Augusto Pinochet was a Chilean military officer who ruled Chile as a dictator from 1973 to 1990. He came to power in a military coup on September 11, 1973, overthrowing the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende.
This is not a case of a dictator with a Full 7th house, nevertheless a benefic is there, and this case it was Venus. The planet is also term ruler of the Ascendant. Venus in the 7th house has this effect where dictators with such configuration tend to attract and make people do what they want with easy?

The Assassination of a Diplomat
Although not the assassin, it was under his regime that the killing happened. Murdered Orlando was opposed and a critic of Pinochet’s government. Letelier was a prominent figure in the Chilean Socialist Party and had served as Chile’s ambassador to the United States under Salvador Allende’s government, which was overthrown by Pinochet in a military coup in 1973 as we just investigated above.

The assassination of Letelier was widely condemned by the international community and contributed to growing criticism of Pinochet’s regime and its human rights abuses.

One & Only
Mars is power, raw and organic, it combats, controls and dominates, it needs to be the first, the one and only. Now, Mars in Sect in Pinochet’s chart was ruler of 6th house of nation’s army. What happened when such Mars is directed to the Ascendant? Pinochet is given full power by the new constitution, establishing a National Security Council that was chaired by himself, giving him control over the military, police, and intelligence services.
The new constitution that gave Pinochet more power and established a one-party state in Chile was adopted on September 11, 1980, exactly seven years (basically a Uranus transit in one sign) after Pinochet’s military coup that overthrew the government of Salvador Allende.
The new constitution gave Pinochet almost unlimited power and allowed him to rule by decree, bypassing the elected Congress. It also gave him the power to appoint all judges, including those on the Supreme Court, and to dissolve Congress if he deemed it necessary.

Stepping Down
After ruling Chile as a military dictator for 17 years, Augusto Pinochet held a national referendum in 1988, which resulted in a vote against his continued presidency when Saturn perfected its direction to the IC, the lowest part of any radix:

The Arrest
Venus in the chart of Pinochet is ruler of 12th house of prison/arrestment. Now, what kind of event would take place that symbolized such direction? Bear in mind that events were happening, but it was a single event that stamped a mark in the history books:
Pinochet is arrested on October 16th, 1998 in London on charges of human rights abuses committed during his regime. Remember that his natal Venus is square Jupiter in the international 9th house. Pinochet’s arrest was a historic event, as it was the first time that a former head of state had been arrested on charges of human rights abuses by another country as widely known.
→ It was the individual’s Jupiter Return – he was imprisoned for only 503 days. His victims never saw justice? Pinochet is released on medical grounds and returns to Chile on March 2nd; 2000, where he is stripped of his immunity from prosecution and charged with various crimes. However, due to his deteriorating health, Pinochet was never brought to trial and died six years after without ever being convicted of the crimes he was accused of. Death in the Radix
Ancient astrologers knew the power of the LoF in directions of length of life. Not something common for astrologers nowadays, neither do I make investigation on it, but I should. Natal Lot of Fortune is located in the 9th place by counting of Pinochet and acted as an Hyleg of the dictators’ radix. The chart is nocturnal and the LoF is a good candidate as it works as a sort of Moon’s Ascendant.
Natal Mars in Sect in aspect to the Asc (body) was the Anaereta. Now, what happened when Mercury is released and reaches a point in the radix which opposed the Lot of Fortune by aspectual Primary Directions and soon Mars square the LoF also by Direction? Note that Pinochet’s death was a controversial and divisive event in Chilean history.
Augusto Pinochet died on December 10, 2006, at the age of 91 without ever being brought to trial for his crimes (Natal Saturn ruler of 8th house of death is boarding the Persian degrees of “Elevation and Power”). He had been suffering from heart problems (observe natal Sun (heart) in the 6th house of health issues) and other health issues for several years prior to his death.
→ At the day of his death, transiting Saturn was retrograde and conjunct natal Mars, giving more pressure for Mars to “kill” the dictator.
