Sun Conjunct Mars: Cazimi — November 2023  

The extend of the Sun’s disk size on the ecliptic is roughly 32’ seconds, then the ancients considered its half to be the “heart of the Sun” – thus, any planet exact centred by 0° orb, or a planet conjunct but no more than 16’ seconds away from the Sun, are said to be in a very glorious, fortunate and shinning position.  It is a time to power up your heart with intense visions of what and who you can be if you assert about it.

» The Sun-Mars conjunction in Scorpio can offer us an opportunity to cut ties with people with toxic influence over you somehow, or toxicities in our lives made by ourselves. A great turning point regarding self-control, stable power, potentials, sex, addictions, vicious behaviours, obsessions etc.

Planets “Cazimi” are astrologically protected, secured and fastened, as if the Sun generates a whole new power facility for Mars, once Mars agrees with the “dryness” and “heat” of the Sun. This is perhaps an opportunity to go deep into the “heart” of a situation perpetuating the Scorpio sector of your chart. People will be purging that what no longer serves in a single shot, and it is going to be dramatic, noticeable and maybe scandalous. 

However, such aspect can last only for so long, after the Sun moves on more than 16’ away (or more than one of the halves), the planet conjunct is considered by the ancient Persian astrologers to be burned by the Sun or “under rays in the east”. Mars in Scorpio will be burned the next day of its conjunction of the Sun and will continue so until the Sun begins distancing more than 10° degrees away (about a month later as the Sun enters Capricorn on December 2023). From this point, Mars will be just “under the rays” but less harmed until it reaches a very powerful and visible position, its “strong easternization” phase after the Sun’s powerful body distances 18° degrees forward (when the Sun enters Aquarius on January 2024). 

With Mars at the heart of the Sun, people need to conquer, sometimes they don’t even know what that is, but the urge is strong. I personally have Sun-Mars conjunction burned by a few minutes, and sometimes my body just starts to itch just because I need to do some action, even when I don’t know exactly what that is. But Mars likes to be assertive, so you better know what you are looking after. Mars goes after what he wants, without shame or remorse after taking it, conquering it or defeating it. 

Some people may find revenged or exactly retributed, but don’t let such divert your head, it can lead to irresponsive future moves in the board. Mars knows what he wants, but when it starts it burning transit as the Sun begins to move away from him, he may feel defeated or powerless, as if that new power generation has been shut down for maintenance, it was too abrupt, too sudden, or that the excitement was way too big for the room. But make no mistake, the impulse to act onto something is blazing, desires are on flames and assertive one shall be. 

The conjunction happens in Scorpio, expect a deep step into that what makes you unique, distinctive and especial. Scorpio is not about showing emotions, although it can be very deeply emotional, yet controlled and static – they administer their feelings with such intensity that people never know exactly what they are presently experiencing inside themselves; such sign can be like an enigmatic puzzle, a delicious riddle to decipher, if you can.
