Considerations

On Part I, we discussed and learned the differences as well as the attempted perfection in Astrology on “paper” [in practice]. It was studied the imaginary huge polygons’ intercessions in the astrological Zodiac wheel, why and how signs Aspects and degree-to-degree are developed and the philosophical thinking plus mathemathical mediation behind it. On this page [Part II] be prepared to read about Zodiac Signs and their Agreement in the Zodiac in pairs but not sharing the same axis neither are considered Aspects. Understand it:

The Agreements of the Zodiacus Identified in 3 ways

After we realize the “looking at” Aspects [plus the planetary orbs] & the symmetrical connection  degree-to-degree approach are the genesis of the trigonometrical practical Zodiac in order to assume “perfection” and justification for what it is at the closer to natural patterns as possible, there are no other ways a Zodiac sign can look to another but through the classical aspects. However, the ancients said there are 3 ways that the signs also can relate, or correlate to, although not considered Aspects but the relationship of the Signs in agreement to a few yet enormous astronomical observations, making specific Squares such as the Fixed T-Square to be alliviated, or, taken the edge off. The ancients then identified the Zodiac Signs in agreement to each by judging and determining them into 3 categories, and they are:

[1] The Signs Agreeing in the Belt & Ascensions of the Zodiac – The declination of a specific sign on the celestial equator is always equal to another yet always opposite – the north and south [for example: the beginning degree of Northern Cancer is equal to the end degree of Southern Sagittarius and so forth], therefore each pair shares, or, agrees with the same Ascension on the Eastern Horizon. That is, Aries agrees with Pisces, Taurus with Aquarius, Gemini with Capricorn, Cancer with Sagittarius, Leo with Scorpio, and Virgo with Libra. Here, among the signs in Aversion, observe that the Grand Fixed Square [Taurus-Aquarius; Leo-Scorpio] are the Zodiac Signs in which the Square is said to be alleviated, and as result of such phenomenon, is considered to be the less detrimental Grand Square of all of the Squares. I think this detail is very imporant, because not only the tension is mitigated, but Venus is rules one of the signs[Taurus] in this specific Grand Square. 

Northern Signs of the Zodiac Belt: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Virgo

Southern Signs of the Zodiac Belt: Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces

On a side note, due to the ever and forever slow slant of 23.4 degrees of the Earth’s axis, variations occurs when a sign rises and the time it spends above Earth, therefore humans experience live from Earth [depending on the hemisphere], half of Zodiac belt taking longer time to fully Ascend, while the other half takes shorter.

Signs of Long Ascension [take longer ascending]: Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius.

Signs of Short Ascension [take small time ascending]: Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus and Gemini.

Here there is a specific detail that amazes me, in the Southern Hemisphere the Signs of Long and Short Ascensions are reverted. A phenomenon alike is that with the Moon and how we see her from Earth – she orbits near the equator of the Earth, thus people in different hemispheres witness the moon relatively different: in the Southern Hemisphere [where we see the Moon on North], people watches the moon ‘upside down’ so the side which is shining (sunlit) seems the opposite from the Northern Hemisphere [where we see the Moon on South]. As if the Moon is saying that she agrees with both sides simultaneously [North & South].

[2] The Persian Signs Agreeing in Power – If the Sun means power in astrology, and we as humans do understand the astronomical and life-saver power of the effect of Sun on us and in the whole solar system, it was wise for the ancients to classify the pairs of signs degree-to-degree which share the same length of day light as the other, and accordingly, the Persians called each of these pairs “equal in power”, because they do agree in power. For example, the sum of hours the Sun light is in Cancer, is the same it will spend in Gemini, or, Leo is the same of transiting Sun in Taurus, etc. in more detail, the 1st degree of Capricorn will agree with the 30th degree of Sagittarius, while the 29th degree of Sagittarius will agree with the 2nd degree of Capricorn and so forth through all the Zodiac. These are also known as the “Antiscial signs”, or the Persian pairs of the natural order of the Zodiac signs “obeying” another sign specifically, and they are: Sagittarius-Capricorn, Scorpio-Aquarius, Libra-Pisces, Virgo-Aries, Leo-Taurus, Cancer-Gemini. Here among the Squares, it is found 2 pairs of Zodiac signs far from the other in Aversion but with natural affinity, thus these pairs are said to be natural in Opposition. They are: Libra-Pisces and Aries-Virgo. 

This Agreenment of the Signs is quite interesting and intriguing because in astronomy, we have the Tropical Signs Cancer-Capricorn and the Equinoctial Signs Aries-Libra. In the last, whenever the Sun enters each [then crossing Earth’s equator circle], the day and night becomes approximately equal in length, marking the beginning of spring/autumn. Here then, we have the Sun agreeing with both sides of an Axis of Zodiac signs.

[3] The Persian Signs Agreeing in Manner – Perhaps this is the most obvious “Agreenments of the Zodiac Signs” to us down here because we already know the classical dual rulership table by heart. Here, along with signs in Aversion, we find the Squares of Gemini-Virgo, and Sagittarius-Pisces which the ancients believed to alleviate the Square tension once they share affinity in the rulership scheme. The pairs of the Zodiac Signs Agreeing in Manner [dual rulership] are:

Saturn – Capricorn/Aquarius

Jupiter – Sagittarius/Pisces

Mars – Aries/Scorpio

Venus – Taurus/Venus

Mercury – Gemini/Virgo

The signs of Cancer and Leo are then considered single mannered [individually ruled] once each has only one planet rulership [Moon and Sun respectively]; also interesting to note that the Sun has no dignity at all in Cancer while the Moon in Leo shares a sign of which Cancer is in Aversion to. Cancer and Leo are also not related neither in the belt [Ascencion] or in power [equal in lenght od day]. Also neither the signs are mutable: Cancer is cardinal and Leo fixed; the houses of the Zodiac also have “power”, and the mutable houses [falling away or, withdrawing] are usually considered the weakest of them all. The Angular houses or the Stakes [Cancer is the 4th sign] are decidly the most powerful houses of all the Zodiac places, followed by Succedent/following houses [Leo is the 5th sign] which sustain, or mantain what cardinal places fuelled gas with. Here we see a clear statement from both the Sun and Moon, each one have their own Sect [which is an ancient judging techinique] and they agree in setting things in motion as long as they are on their own terms, with a specific set of planets of their own, where each have own domain/domination/intervantion. While Humane Mercury goes with the flow, the subjective Moon owns Vens and Mars below the horizon circle, while the objective Sun dominates the superiors Jupiter-Saturn above it.

Conclusion

When perceiving through these categorization of the relationship of the Zodiac signs and the pairs in agreement on the belt, ascension, length of day and the dual rulerships table in order from the planets in the solar system, the astrologer realize that one is dealing with a technology of exactness created to pin point like a clock. However, these points must be study as they are ever changing, thus not imitating such quality for thousands and thousands of years, and even then not exactly the same, many stars and galaxies will have changed/gone [outer conditions]. Were the signs agreeing at some point in Antiscial way in your chart? Or were they agreeing degree-to-degree on the celestial equator? Pehaps this is one of the reasons many think minor harmonics are truly possible. For example, because the signs in natural sextile in the Zodiac, are actually those agreeing degree-to-degree in Ascension but two paris in Aversion [Aries-Pisces and Virgo-Libra], or those agreeing degree-to-degree in lenght of daylight [sings in Aversion Cancer-Gemini and Sagittarius-Capricorn], and finally the pairs agreeing in manner but in aversion Capricorn-Aquarius – they all have their Aversion somewhat encouraged to “harmonization” [but still an Aversion connection] – they may see it like there is some unique and never before seen “Aspect”, so lets invent some more… where it was just a degree-to-degree Zodiac Sign Agreement of some kind.
